After studying photography at the Port Elizabeth Technikon for three years, I joined the film industry as a runner in 1992. My goal was to be a DOP and soon started loading on commercial and feature films, later pulling focus. At the same time I kept my interest in photography by getting commissioned to do private work. In 2002 I got a break to light a public service announcement for Childline. The Childline announcement was very successful and it won a silver lion at Cannes film festival in 2003. As opportunity only knocks once I jumped and committed myself to DOP work. I work on tv commercials, feature films, documentaries and corporate infomercials. For some clients I shoot both their tv and print campaigns. Passport SA and EU. Time lapse with motion is possible with the Electra drive motor attached to the three foot CineSlider. Using the Electra drive basic controller to achieve smooth fast or very slow tracks. This system can also be used as a basic motion control rig.
